Our Junior and Senior Musical Theatre Programs consist of approximately 30 weeks of classes culminating in a full-scale Broadway Musical theatre performance. The programs begin in the Fall with 1½ hours of rehearsal, one day a week.

This year, we are pleased to present the award-winning  hit HONK!  for all of our Junior and Senior Musical Theatre groups. 
 

Winner of the 2000 Laurence Olivier Award for best new musical (in the year that featured the arrival of "The Lion King"), "HONK!" is a musical comedy based on the Hans Christian Andersen tale of "The Ugly Duckling".  It is the story of Ugly, whose odd, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbours. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry Cat, Ugly must find his way home. Along his rollicking and harrowing journey he not only discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny, but also finds love and acceptance in all its forms. Don't be misled by the story, there is not a scrap of fur or a single feather in this witty, hilarious and deeply moving production!

Performances are complete with sound, lights, orchestration, scenery, props, costumes and make-up and will take place at the Vaughan City Playhouse in May 2012.

All Charactors programs are led by professional, ADULT specialists in the areas of Acting, Dance and Music.
